Buying and selling a home isn’t just about location, square footage, and sales pitches: it’s about people.

Taking the steps to buy or sell a home is one that often comes with intense emotion, change, and details. Having the right people on your side can make the process much easier.

The Falk Ruvin Gallagher (FRG) Team is built on the fundamentals of a process - a process that works to make the home buying and selling experience stress-free with reliable expertise and skills working for you.

Our home process begins with the Listing Department, a group led by Listing Department Manager Maci Watrud and Listing Coordinator Lexie Schmelzer with assistance from Listing Assistant Angel Vang.

Maci and Lexie facilitate upcoming listings, coming soon, and active listings. 

The FRG Listing Team attends every appointment with the listing agent and updates paperwork, timelines, and all the nut and bolt details of bringing a home to market.

“After we have signed paperwork, we go to the photography session, order signage, put the home in MLS, and meet internally with our Marketing Director and Listing Agent to confirm our marketing plan,” Watrud said. “We work hand-in-hand with others on our team to make sure we are marketing each home in the best possible light!”

In a process that can involve complicated paperwork, dates, and legal requirements, the Listing Department focuses on the fine points.

“A key role in selling a home is the details, even the tiniest ones. It is extremely important to have the listing department because it gives the agent the freedom to focus on the bigger picture and selling the home” said Schmelzer.

“The devil is truly in the details as Katie Falk always says,” Watrud added. “The details are so important when listing your home. Whether it be the age of the furnace, the square feet above/below grade, room dimensions, or the school district - we take the time to make sure every detail is accounted for. I believe that is why FRG is a household name in Milwaukee and why people continue to work with us.”

Real Estate, like many sales industries, comes with generalizations and misconceptions.

Maci and Lexie pride themselves on being more than a team that just throws a house on the market to try and get a quick sale.

“Many people don't understand why we have a listings team at all, so yes I believe many do not understand our job as a whole,” Watrud said. “I say it in every listing appointment - our job is to handle all the details - paperwork, photography, correspondence to ensure the listing agent can put all their efforts into reaching out to agents and buyers of theirs about the listing and sell it! The agent does not have to worry about the details and can focus on selling the home.” 

Both Maci and Lexie grew up watching HGTV and found early passions learning and following local real estate.

Watrud started working for Molly Gallagher when she had her own team - Gallagher Kies & Co, before joining Gallagher in the merger with Falk Ruvin in 2020. Schmelzer started her career in Property Management before joining FRG in 2021.

The duo says they haven’t looked back since joining and believe they have found a true family at FRG.

“I can't say enough about our fabulous team!” Watrud said. “I view the people I work with as a family. When someone has a good day, we praise them. When someone has a bad day, we build them up. I love our days in the office the most because we all have such great energy and enjoy spending time with one another. Our love for one another is what makes our team so fun to work with and that love passes on to the way we treat our clients and our partners.”
